Proper preparation ensures the best waxing results and minimizes discomfort. Here are our pre-wax care recommendations:
Hair Length: Allow hair to grow to at least 1/4 inch (6mm) for optimal waxing. Hair that's too short won't be removed effectively.
Exfoliate: Gently exfoliate the area 24 hours before your appointment to remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs.
Avoid Lotions & Oils: Don't apply lotions, oils, or moisturizers on the day of your appointment. Clean, dry skin allows better wax adhesion.
Skip the Gym: Avoid strenuous exercise 24 hours before waxing to prevent excess sweating.
Wear Loose Clothing: Plan to wear loose, comfortable clothing after your appointment to avoid irritation.
Avoid Sun Exposure: Don't sunbathe or use tanning beds 24 hours before waxing.
-
Understanding what to expect helps you feel more comfortable during your appointment:
Duration: Most women's waxing appointments take 15-45 minutes depending on the area being treated.
Comfort Level: While waxing involves some discomfort, it's typically brief. Our experienced technicians work efficiently to minimize pain.
Sensitivity: The first wax may be slightly more uncomfortable. Subsequent appointments are usually easier as hair becomes finer and lighter.
Professional Environment: We maintain a clean, professional setting with privacy and respect for all clients.
Aftercare Products: We apply soothing products immediately after waxing to calm the skin.
-
Proper aftercare is essential for smooth skin and to prevent irritation and ingrown hairs:
Avoid Heat: Skip hot showers, saunas, and steam rooms for 24 hours after waxing.
No Exercise: Avoid strenuous activity and sweating for 24 hours post-wax.
Loose Clothing: Wear loose, breathable clothing to prevent friction and irritation.
Moisturize: After 24 hours, apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer daily.
Exfoliate Gently: After 3-4 days, use a gentle exfoliating scrub 2-3 times per week to prevent ingrown hairs.
Avoid Touching: Don't touch or pick at the waxed area for at least 24 hours.
Sun Protection: Avoid direct sun exposure for 48 hours after waxing.
-
Waxing provides longer-lasting results compared to shaving or other hair removal methods. Most clients enjoy smooth skin for 3-6 weeks, depending on individual hair growth rates and the area being treated. With regular waxing every 4-6 weeks, hair typically becomes finer and lighter over time, extending the duration between appointments.
